LOCAL: Warby Parker
Warby Parker is a rad glasses company--buy a pair and they donate a pair to a person in need. And did I mention that you can get prescription glasses for $95? Yes, it's true.
Great news! The Warby Parker School Bus is touring through Dallas on January 11th, and it's supposed to SPECtacular. The bus will be equipped with leather sofas, vintage books, and a whole selection of Warby Parker glasses.

Will any Dallas, Texans be attending?! Look for me in my Warby Parker Begley frames.

PARAGON: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
These two are hosting the Golden Globe Awards on January 13th, and I'm stoked. I can't think of another pair that makes me laugh as much as they do.
Are you going to tune in this year?

JAMS: Malvina Reynolds
I first heard about Malvina Reynolds through the television
series Weeds. The entire first season’s
opening credits plays “Little Boxes,” which describes suburbia so perfectly. Have
a listen and see for yourself.
In season two bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Elvis
Costello, and Regina Spektor covered “Little Boxes.”
Her songs speak truth and are witty simultaneously. The song
“Rosie Jane,” about a woman who can’t take care of the four children she
currently has, is pregnant once again, so Malvina calls her out on it. I can’t
think of many people who would have the balls to do that.
Malvina was an activist, slight hippie, and speaker of the
truth. For all of these things, I am grateful.
